Creating My Own Destiny
Here we are in a new month. Last month I read a book by Vic Johnson twice. It was called 50 lessons I Learned From The World’s #1 Goal Achiever. In this book, Vic shares the life lessons from John Goddard the adventurer, explorer, author and lecturer. In 50 lessons, he teaches about how each of us can create our own success.
John Goddard had an experience when he was fifteen years old that changed his life. He was in his family kitchen when he heard one of his parents’ friends that he wished he was “John’s age again” and that he wished he could start over. This inspired John to write down 127 specific life goals. He accomplished most of these goals along with another 400 that he set through his life’s journey. The fact that he had a rare form of cancer did not keep him from his goals.
Vic tells how he met John. In 2006, Vic cold-called Goddard and was shocked when the famous man agreed to meet with Vic and his wife Lisa for dinner at his home. They met again numerous times over the next several years.
The book’s message is this
” Live your life as You see fit, not to listen to what the naysayers and even your own fears would have you believe is possible.”
This month I intend to use the lessons that I have learned to guide the affirmation that I am focusing on this month. That affirmation is
: I create my own destiny.”
God’s Will Is That We Live Our Lives
This may seem to some people like the opposite of my focus last month which had to do with my spirituality as a Christian. Doesn’t God determine our destiny? Well, the truth is, God gave us a will to do with as we wish. He gave us creative ability to spend our time on this earth either to his glory or to our own. Take my novels, for example. My novels are my own creation, but at the same time i believe that it is my destiny to write them. I believe that someone somewhere will be blessed through my work.
This Month’s Project
Every blog post this month on Mondays and Fridays, I am going to go through the lessons from the book and apply them to my own life. I am not certain how far I will get through the fifty lessions this month, but the goal is to get as far as possible at applying the action steps that are part of this book. I hope that it blesses you, my blog readers as much as it blesses me.

I love the title of this blog…we do create our own destiny. It is in our hands to do with as we please. Powerful message.
It is interesting to know that when we follow natural laws, and use our creativity and imagination, we can make a real difference in the world around us.
